The fire of protests that started recently in Iran is continuing to burn. Meanwhile, now big news has come out. Amidst the growing rebellion in the country, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei may flee to Moscow. According to an intelligence report shared with The Times, he may go to Moscow if Khomeini's regime in Iran falls.
The report said Khamenei, 86, would then leave Tehran along with his aides and family members if his security agencies fail to stop the growing protests or abandon him amid the unrest.
An intelligence source told the British newspaper that Plan B for Khamenei is that he can leave the country with his closest associates and family, including his son and designated successor Mojtaba.
Earlier in December 2024, then Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, an ally of both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Khamenei, fled to Moscow after rebels seized power.
