The admit cards for candidates appearing in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026), which were scheduled to be released on January 2nd, have been postponed. The admit cards will now be made available soon on the official website of the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Candidates will be able to download them by entering their login credentials.

Exam Dates
The GATE 2026 exam will be conducted at designated examination centers across the country on February 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th, 2026.  Complete details regarding subject-wise dates and shifts can be found in the table below.

Shift Timings
The first shift of the exam will be held from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the second shift will be conducted from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Steps to Download Admit Card
Once the GATE 2026 admit cards are released, candidates must first visit the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

On the website's homepage, click on the admit card link.

Now, enter the required details (login credentials) and submit.

The admit card will then open on the screen, from where you can download and print it.
Candidates should remember to carry a copy of their admit card and an original identity proof to the examination center for verification. Without the admit card and ID card, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall and will be prevented from taking the exam.
