The holiday season is over, and your air fryer may have prepared a variety of delicious dishes. Crunchy fries, roasted veggies, cheesy snacks, and sweets—after all, your air fryer needs a good cleaning. It is important to clean it properly at the beginning of the new year. Let us know how you can do deep cleaning of your air fryer.
Cool the air fryer and remove it from power before beginning cleaning. There is a risk of burns when cleaning on a hot machine. For exterior cleaning, wipe the surface lightly with a soft cloth soaked in lukewarm soapy water. Avoid harsh sprays or chemicals, as these may damage the finish and may also produce odors when heated.
Baskets and removable parts collect the most dirt. If there are stuck-on food particles, soak the basket briefly in lukewarm water and dish soap. Next, gently scrape off the dirt with a wooden spatula, as metal utensils can damage the coating.
Small crumbs and oil can accumulate in areas like the air fryer’s heating element and fan. A new, soft toothbrush is useful to clean them. If the air fryer has lingering smells from last night’s dinner, rub half a lemon inside and then rinse with water.
Be sure to dry the air fryer completely after cleaning. Moisture can cause odors, rust, and bacteria to grow. Using paper or silicone liners will make cleaning easier in the future, but make sure these do not touch the heating element and obstruct airflow.
