The Uttarakhand Board of School Education has officially released the examination schedule for the Class 10 (High School) and Class 12 (Intermediate) board exams for the academic session 2025–26. This announcement brings clarity and relief to lakhs of students who have been preparing for their final board examinations and were eagerly waiting for the confirmed dates.
As per the notified timetable, the Intermediate (Class 12) board examinations will commence from 21 February 2026 and continue till 20 March 2026. Meanwhile, the High School (Class 10) examinations will begin slightly later, starting from 23 February 2026, and will also conclude on 20 March 2026. Both examinations will be conducted in a single shift, scheduled from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, ensuring uniformity and smooth coordination across all exam centres.
For Intermediate students, the very first paper on 21 February 2026 will be Drawing and Painting, while High School candidates will appear for subjects such as Hindustani Music (Melodic Instrument) and Typing (English or Hindi) on the opening day of their exams. The board has carefully structured the timetable to maintain adequate gaps between major subjects, allowing students sufficient preparation time.
According to senior education officials, all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure fair and transparent conduct of the examinations. A total of 1,261 examination centres have been set up across the region. Among these, 156 centres have been marked as sensitive, while 6 centres are classified as highly sensitive, considering previous records and logistical challenges. Enhanced security, strict invigilation, and surveillance mechanisms will be in place at such centres.
This year, approximately 2.16 lakh students are expected to appear for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations combined. Special guidelines have been issued to exam centre authorities to ensure discipline, timely entry of students, and smooth distribution of question papers and answer sheets.
Students are advised to thoroughly check the official timetable and note their subject-wise exam dates. Reaching the examination centre at least 30 minutes before reporting time, carrying a valid admit card, and strictly following exam-day instructions will be mandatory. Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or Bluetooth devices are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
With the dates now confirmed, students should focus on structured revision, practice previous years’ question papers, and maintain a healthy routine to stay confident and stress-free during exams.
