Jaipur, 7 January 2026: Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference was held, which brought together national and state leadership, policy makers, industry leaders, startups and academicians to discuss the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in governance, infrastructure, innovation and workforce development. This conference serves as a precursor to the India AI Impact Summit to be held from 15-20 February 2026.
In this conference, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Bhajanlal Sharma, Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India Ashwini Vaishnav (presented virtually), Minister of State (MoS) for Electronics and IT, Government of India Jitin Prasad and Minister of IT and Communications, Government of Rajasthan, Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, as well as senior officials of MEITY and Government of Rajasthan were present. Their partnership emphasized the strong Centre-State collaboration to position Rajasthan as a key contributor to India’s AI-led growth journey.
Addressing the gathering, Ashwini Vaishnave, Minister of Electronics and IT, Government of India, said, “Just as the industrial revolution has brought about a transformation in electricity, computers, semiconductors, internet and mobile technology, Artificial Intelligence is now set to bring a similar transformation. The Prime Minister’s clear mission is to democratize technology so that instead of being limited to only a select few, AI-powered intelligence reaches every person, every home and every industry. Part of this mission Therefore, today a program has been launched in which one million youth will be trained in Artificial Intelligence skills, so that the youth of India are fully prepared for this new technological era.
Jitin Prasada, Minister of State (MoS) for Electronics and IT, Government of India, said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly believes that technology should be democratized. Inspired by this vision, the government has invested Rs 10,000 crore under the India Artificial Intelligence Mission to use artificial intelligence in sectors like agriculture, healthcare, education and environment. The aim is to increase the income of citizens, make life easier and improve the overall health of the country through responsible and inclusive use of AI. To increase productivity.”
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma had said, “Today, Rajasthan is taking decisive steps to move ahead in e-governance and inclusion and become a leader in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Artificial Intelligence is the next major milestone in our country’s journey. Moving forward in this direction, we have introduced the AI and ML Policy. This policy will ensure that AI systems are more transparent, fair and accountable to the principles of integrity. “The use of artificial intelligence and machine learning can make public service delivery faster, more transparent and more citizen-centric. This will increase administrative efficiency and also promote innovation-led economic growth.”
The conference also featured a session on “Perspectives on Global AI, National AI and Regional AI”, delivered by Professor Avinash Sharma, IIT Jodhpur, which showcased how regional research institutions can play an important role in shaping globally relevant, context-aware AI solutions.
