In the society, father is considered the biggest protector and shield of children, but a soul-shattering incident has come to light from Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka which has tarnished the sacred relationship between father and daughter. Here a Kalyugi father, out of greed for a few rupees, pushed his own minor daughter into the disgusting quagmire of prostitution. The surprising thing is that the girl’s maternal grandmother was also an equal participant in this shameful crime. The police have put a total of 12 accused, including the father and grandmother, behind bars in this case.
The series of sorrows in the life of the victimized minor girl had started only after the death of her mother. After her mother’s passing, she was completing her studies by staying with her relatives. When she finished her 12th (PUC) studies, she returned to her father with great aspirations. He had thought that his father would support him after his mother left, but he had no idea that his own blood was conspiring to compromise his dignity.
This entire conspiracy was hatched in December last year. The father had taken his daughter to her grandmother’s house. During the two-day stay there, the grandmother and father together made a plan to sell the girl. Meanwhile, a broker named Bharat Shetty reached there. He lured the father that if he takes his daughter into this business, he can earn up to Rs 5,000 per day. Blinded by the lust of money, the father accepted the deal for the dignity of his innocent daughter.
The accused father left for Mangaluru with Bharat Shetty along with his daughter. On the way, the victim pleaded with her father and told that she was on her periods and was not well. But the stone-hearted father was not affected by his daughter’s pain. The next day, broker Bharat Shetty threatened the girl and clearly told her that some people would come and she would have to have physical relations with them.
While narrating her ordeal to the police, the victim told that four criminals aged between 20 to 45 years came there and raped her one by one. The girl, crying, explained her age and begged to be spared, but the brutes were not relented. By paying money to accused Bharat Shetty, those criminals continued sexually exploiting the victim for two consecutive days.
Eventually the victim gathered courage and went to the police and narrated her story. As soon as the matter came to light, there was a stir in the police department. Taking immediate action, the police arrested 12 people including father, grandmother and main accused Bharat Shetty. Investigation has revealed that Bharat Shetty runs a big sex racket in Dakshina Kannada district and more than 8 prostitution cases are already registered against him in Mangaluru and Udupi. The police are now conducting raids in search of the remaining members of this gang.
