Mumbai:  The makers of Yash-starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’ have set the internet buzzing by dropping the teaser of the highly-anticipated film on the superstar’s 40th birthday.

However, the teaser, featuring Yash as a bold gangster in a fierce battle mode with Hollywood-level visuals, left only a section of netizens impressed, while others found it underwhelming.

Some even compared the film to Ranveer Singh’s spy-thriller ‘Dhurandhar 2’, which is also set to release with ‘Toxic’, and declared the latter as a box-office winner.

One user commented, “Too much style, zero substance.”

Another wrote, “Guys, we got the Badass Ravikumar sequel before GTA 6.”

“Not trying to be negative, but it looks very artificial and low-budget, as if it was shot entirely on studio sets. There are no real high moments in the teaser,” remarked one person.

Another quipped, “Badass Ravikumar Pro Max.”

One comment read, “Nah… Dhurandhar 2 is going to wipe the floor with Toxic.”

Another netizen wrote, “What was the Toxic teaser even about? So many scenes look AI-generated. Easy win for Dhurandhar 2.”

“Toxic teaser just ensured Dhurandhar 2 will win,” declared one user, while another bluntly stated, “Dhurandhar 2 is going to eat this alive.”

A section of netizens praised the teaser.

“OMG The visuals look like a pure Hollywood film,” commented one person.

Another commented, “Those last four seconds after the title card INSANE. Now I know why the #ToxicTheMovie team isn’t bothered about the clash—they’re clearly not just aiming at the Indian market.”

One user quipped, “What did I just watch? It literally felt like a Quentin Tarantino trailer.”

Helmed by Geethu Mohandas, ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’ features Yash in the lead, alongside Rukmini Vasanth, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair in pivotal roles.

The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on March 19.

Meanwhile, after the massive success of ‘Dhurandhar’, fans are anxiously looking forward to its sequel ‘Dhurandhar 2’, which is set to clash with Yash’s ‘Toxic’.
