Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women registered an emphatic win against UP Warriorz Women in the 5th match of the Women's Premier League 2026 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, RCB completed a clinical all-round display to make chasing a modest target seem easy. The result showcased Bengaluru's strength and control while chasing, while Warriorz were left wondering what might have been after a mid-innings collapse.
RCB-W vs UPW-W - As it Happened
UP Warriorz Women finished their innings at 143 for 5 in 20 overs. They began to lose their way after a completely reinvented batting order at the onset of their innings. Meg Lanning and Harleen Deol missed out on converting their starts. Litchfield, on the other hand, opened up with a flourishing 20 off 11 balls before the big blow: losing wickets in a heap. From 39 for 1, the team slumped to 50 for 5.
Deepti Sharma and Deandra Dottin saved the innings with an in-control, unbeaten stand. Deepti struck 45 not out from 35 balls, while Dottin made 40 not out from 37, helping UPW cross 140. Nadine de Klerk and Lauren Bell bowled economically for RCB, while Shreyanka Patil did take two wickets but was not as economical on the day.
RCB needed 144 to win and it was Grace Harris and Smriti Mandhana right from the start of the chase. Bengaluru went smashing into the powerplay and scored 78 runs without loss, putting the UP bowlers immediately under pressure. Harris was phenomenal with 85 scoring only in 40 balls, with ten hits to the fence and five sixes.
Mandhana supported well with an unbeaten 47 off 31 balls. The pair made the run rate just a mere number and took the game away within the first ten overs. RCB chased down 145 for 1 in just 12.1 overs, making it one of the quickest chase in the league. UP never had a chance against such clean-hitting, and it was far too minuscule a score against such a strong RCB lineup.
