MI London, formerly known as Oval Invincibles, have confirmed their pre-auction signings and announced Sam Curran as their captain ahead of The Hundred 2026, rewarding him for his consistent all-round performances in leagues around the world. The franchise has also decided to retain the services of Will Jacks.
In The Hundred Women’s competition, MI London have retained Danni Wyatt-Hodge as one of their marquee players ahead of the upcoming player auction. Following multiple team takeovers ahead of the 2026 season, all franchises were allowed to lock in up to four players ahead of the auctions, which are expected to take place in March 2026.
Curran takes over as the new skipper after Sam Billings led the side to three consecutive titles from 2023 to 2025. Jacks, part of the team since the inaugural 2021 season, remains the all-time leading run-scorer for the franchise. For the upcoming season, MI London have also secured the services of former Southern Brave Women’s player Wyatt-Hodge, strengthening their squad ahead of the auctions.
"In Sam and Will, we have signed two of the best English white-ball cricketers there are. Danni is a fan favourite in south London with her performances for Surrey and England and has already tasted success at the Kia Oval. She's been prolific in The Hundred and is one of the most exciting players in the game," said the MI London chairman Oli Slipper.
As the 2026 season approaches, bringing multiple changes including team takeovers and player auctions, MI London will have an opportunity to further cement their dominance in The Hundred. The franchise has already been the most successful team in the history of the tournament, winning three Men’s titles and two Women’s titles.
Formerly Oval Invincibles, the men’s side played 42 games, winning 28 of them, though there is only a minimal chance of re-signing former captain Billings through the auction. Wyatt-Hodge is the second-highest run-scorer in the Women’s competition, while Jacks ranks third in the Men’s competition. Curran has been a standout all-rounder, scoring 757 runs in 32 innings at a strike rate of 150.49 and claiming 45 wickets in 36 innings.
