New Delhi: The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 began on December 24, and after almost three weeks of matches, the names of the four teams that have reached the semi-finals have been announced. Karnataka and Saurashtra secured their places in the semi-finals by winning the quarter-finals on 12 January. Under this, Vidarbha and Punjab also performed well and entered the semi-finals. Now it has become clear who will compete with whom in Semi-Final-1 and Semi-Final-2.
Karnataka will face Vidarbha in the first semi-final, while Saurashtra and Punjab will clash in the second semi-final. Both the semi-final matches will be held at BCCI Center of Excellence Ground 1, Bengaluru.
Punjab defeated Madhya Pradesh by a huge margin of 183 runs in the third quarter-final. Batting first, Punjab posted a huge score of 345 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs. Harnoor Singh and captain Prabhasimran made an excellent partnership of 116 runs for the first wicket.
Harnoor contributed by scoring 51 runs, while Prabhasimran played a brilliant inning of 88 runs. Additionally, Anmolpreet Singh contributed 70 runs and Nehal Wadhera contributed 56 runs, putting the team in a strong position. Madhya Pradesh team was reduced to just 162 runs while chasing the target. In this match, Sanveer Singh took 3 wickets, while Gurnoor Brar, Krish Bhagat, and Ramandeep Singh took 2 wickets each. Mayank Markande also took one wicket.
In the fourth quarter-final, Vidarbha batted first and scored 300 runs. Excellent innings from Yash Rathore and Atharva Tayde kept the team in good position. In reply, Delhi team was all out for only 224 runs in 45.1 overs. Nachiket Bhute of Vidarbha took 4 wickets and captain Harsh Dubey dismissed 3 batsmen.
15th January- 1st Semifinal- Karnataka vs Vidarbha, Bengaluru (9 am)
16th January- Second Semifinal- Saurashtra vs Punjab, Bengaluru (9 am)
18th January- Final, Bengaluru
