South superstar Vijay Thalapathy has been in the news for the last few days about his upcoming film Jan Nayakan. After this film, he is going to say goodbye to the world of acting. Meanwhile, he has received a big blow from the Supreme Court. Actually, after being disappointed by the Madras High Court, the makers had approached the Supreme Court regarding the film, but the petition was rejected and the order was given to go to the High Court.
The makers of Jan Nayakan had filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding a hearing. On this, SC has ordered to continue this hearing in Madras High Court only. The film was released on January 9 but due to lack of approval, its release date was postponed.
Rejecting the petition of the film’s makers, the Supreme Court says that the Madras High Court will hear the case on January 20. Reprimanding the makers, the court said that we are not willing to hear this matter. Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing the makers, said that the film was scheduled to release on January 9. 5000 theaters were found all over India. How did we know that we will get the certificate after 10 cuts?
On this, the Supreme Court said that if the case is going on in the High Court and the date of hearing has been given on January 20, then you should not have challenged it in the Supreme Court. You go back to the High Court.
Let us tell you that last year Vijay had laid the foundation of his political party TVK. In such a situation, where is Jannayak going to do his last film? It was scheduled to be released on 9 January 2025. Meanwhile, it was presented before the Central Board of Film Certification on 18 December. The board raised objection on many scenes of the film and asked for 27 cuts.
This is the reason why the makers had filed a petition in the High Court. On January 9, a single batch of the High Court ordered to grant UA certificate to the film. After this, CBFC filed an appeal against the decision and the order of Madras High Court was stayed. The next hearing of this case was kept on January 20.
