Synopsis

UAE residents and visitors can now easily check their visa status and expiry dates online. Dubai-issued visas are verified through the GDRFA Dubai website, while visas from other emirates can be checked via the ICP platform. Both services offer digital verification for visa validity and details.

UAE residents and visitors can check the status and expiry date of their visas online through official government portals, depending on the emirate that issued the visa.

Immigration authorities in the UAE provide digital services that allow visa holders to confirm whether their visa is valid, nearing expiry, or affected during job changes. The process varies between Dubai-issued visas and those issued by other emirates.

How to check Dubai-issued visa status

For visas issued in Dubai, residents can verify details through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai website. Applicants can search using an application number, file number, or other listed options. Those using a file number must enter personal details such as name, nationality and date of birth.

Visa information appears after completing verification steps. Residents can also seek assistance from Amer centres in the UAE or from abroad.

Checking visas issued by other emirates

For visas issued in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) provides the online service.

Users can search visa validity through the ICP platform using a file number, Unified ID number, Emirates ID, or passport details. The system displays information including visa status, issue date and expiry date once the search is complete.

Authorities advise residents and visitors to use only official government platforms for visa checks and to contact ICP or immigration service centres directly for clarification related to visa validity, issuance or categories.
