New Delhi: The Indian team achieved an impressive victory in the first match of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026. India defeated America (USA) by 6 wickets. Due to rain, the result of the match was decided under the Duckworth-Lewis rule. It rained midway during the Indian batting, due to which the game was stopped.

Indian fast bowler Henil Patel put the American team in trouble with his excellent bowling. America was all out after scoring only 107 runs in 35.2 overs. Henil performed brilliantly in his first match and took 5 wickets. He gave only 16 runs in 7 overs, due to which his economy was 2.30.

America’s batting proved weak, where seven batsmen could not even touch double figures. Captain Utkarsh Srivastava, Rishabh Shimpi and Ritwik Appidi were out without scoring any runs. Amrinder Gill scored 1, Amogh Arepelli scored 3, and Adit Kappa scored 5 runs.

The Indian team did not have a good start while chasing the target. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was out after scoring only 2 runs, and India lost three quick wickets at 12, 21 and 25.
