An international symposium on integration of smart technologies in the field of healthcare and management was held from 15 to 17 January under the aegis of Patanjali University (UoP) and Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR). This seminar, organized in collaboration with the American Institute of Management and Technology (AIMT), was organized in the auditorium of Patanjali Research Foundation and University.
The symposium was organized in a joint initiative of Global Knowledge Foundation (GKF), the academic arm of the US, Director, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Dehradun and the Department of Business, Management and Accounting, University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). The three-day seminar was organized with the aim of promoting technology-driven, long-term health management and encouraging public health improvement at the global level. During this, Acharya Balkrishna welcomed the guests by giving them flower bunch, body clothes and souvenirs. The inauguration started with lighting of the lamp, Dhanvantari Vandana and group singing by Chandramohan and his team. Dr. Dev Sharma emphasized on service and public welfare through Kabir's couplets. Underlined the need for safe, effective and advanced medical care through digital health management, cyber security and AI-based smart systems. In the program, Director of IIT Mandi, Prof. Laxmidhar Behera said that modern AI affects every aspect of life, but ethics is necessary. He also stressed on Synchrona City, innovation, startups and preservation of Indian knowledge and eternal values by Patanjali.
Acharya Balkrishna said that Sahastra Chandra Darshan is a symbol of celebration of long life, healthy and knowledgeable life in the Indian Sanatan tradition, which has very deep cultural and spiritual significance. He said that the basic principles of Sanatan are rooted in farming and the life of the farmer, where the message of a happy and balanced life lies through natural farming, respect for the Panchmahabhutas and harmony with nature.
He said that today the pride of Sanatan culture is being established at the global level. Discussing the concept of globalization, he said that due to this, the countries of the world are connected to each other economically, socially, culturally and politically, due to which the world is becoming a global village. In this context, the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam strengthens the spirit of global unity, shared responsibility and collective solution.
Highlighting the role of Internet of Things in healthcare, he said that wearable sensors, connected medical pumps and smart equipment of hospitals are connected through internet and software, which makes collection, sharing and analysis of health data possible. Chief guest Sachin Choudhary stressed on ensuring national standards, quality and safety by BIS. Director of IIT Roorkee, Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant shared views on telemedicine, digital health, AI and the global importance of Indian culture.
Dr. Vedapriya Arya, Research Head, Patanjali Herbal Research, explained the outline and objectives of the program and presented an overall introduction of the research and development activities. He gave a detailed explanation of the scope of AI-based work at a practical level, linking evidence-based history, agritech, soil testing and agri-entrepreneurship to Patanjali. He reiterated the resolve of self-reliant India and developed India.
