Regional Context and Governance in Eastern India
During his address, the Prime Minister highlighted West Bengal’s geographical and political position in eastern India. He pointed out that the state is surrounded by regions governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party, many of which have shown notable progress in administration and infrastructure. According to his remarks, these states have moved away from long-standing political conflicts and embraced a governance approach focused on development, stability, and inclusive growth. He suggested that West Bengal could also benefit by aligning with this broader regional trend.

End of Divisive Politics in the East
Reflecting on past decades, the Prime Minister stated that eastern India had long been affected by divisive political practices that slowed growth and discouraged investment. He credited the Bharatiya Janata Party with bringing political stability and a new direction to several states in the region. He cited Odisha’s first-ever BJP government, the continued trust shown by voters in Tripura, the party’s success in Assam, and the renewed mandate for the BJP-led alliance in Bihar. According to him, these examples demonstrate a shift in public mindset toward governance based on performance rather than rhetoric.

Youth Support and the Development Model
A significant portion of the Prime Minister’s speech focused on the growing support among younger voters. He emphasized that Gen Z and first-time voters are increasingly drawn to a development-oriented political approach that prioritizes employment, innovation, digital infrastructure, and transparent governance. He claimed that young citizens across the country see the BJP’s governance record as a blueprint for future growth and economic opportunity, and that this perception is steadily expanding into regions where the party once had limited influence.

Criticism of the Current West Bengal Government
Turning his attention to the ruling party in West Bengal, the Prime Minister strongly criticized the Trinamool Congress government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He accused the current administration of corruption, mismanagement, and obstructing the implementation of central government welfare schemes. According to him, financial assistance and relief funds sent by the central government have failed to reach the intended beneficiaries due to administrative failures and political interference.

Challenges in Welfare Delivery and Infrastructure
The Prime Minister highlighted issues related to flood relief, public welfare programs, and basic infrastructure development. He claimed that despite repeated transfers of disaster relief funds, affected communities in West Bengal did not receive adequate support. He also questioned why citizens were deprived of benefits such as free electricity schemes and other social welfare initiatives that have been implemented successfully in other states. According to his argument, political obstruction has prevented effective policy execution at the grassroots level.

Security, Infiltration, and Administrative Concerns
Another major concern raised during the speech was the issue of infiltration and border security. The Prime Minister described it as one of the most pressing challenges facing West Bengal today. He suggested that weak administrative control and political appeasement have allowed the problem to persist, affecting local employment, security, and social harmony. He asserted that a change in government is essential to address these concerns with firmness and accountability.

Expanding Electoral Footprint Across India
In addition to discussing West Bengal, the Prime Minister referred to recent electoral successes in unexpected regions, including municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. He noted that these victories reflect a growing acceptance of the BJP’s governance philosophy even in areas where the party previously struggled. According to him, voters are increasingly evaluating performance, leadership, and long-term vision rather than relying on traditional political loyalties.

Looking Ahead to the West Bengal Elections
Concluding his address, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that the enthusiasm shown by the crowd in Malda reflected a broader statewide mood. He predicted that West Bengal voters would deliver a decisive mandate in favor of change in the upcoming assembly elections. According to his vision, a new government aligned with the BJP would unlock the state’s economic potential, strengthen governance, and integrate West Bengal more closely with India’s overall development trajectory.
