New Delhi: BJP is all set to elect its new national president today, with the nomination process underway at the party headquarters in Delhi. A huge show of strength is expected in this (Sanganthan Parv) program in which Chief Ministers, State Presidents and senior leaders of BJP ruled states are gathering in the capital. The nomination process will take place between 2 pm to 4 pm, followed by scrutiny of nomination papers from 4 pm to 5 pm. Candidates will have the option to withdraw their nominations between 5 pm and 6 pm, and the National Election Officer will issue a press statement at 6:30 pm.
BJP national working president, Nitin Nabin, is set to file his nomination for the top post today. With the support of top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Nitin Nabin is expected to be elected unopposed as the party's 12th national president, making him the youngest person to hold the post. An electoral college consisting of representatives from the party's National Council and State Councils will decide the name of the new president. According to the BJP constitution, a candidate's name must be jointly proposed by at least 20 members of the electoral college of a state and his membership must be at least 15 years.
If everything goes as per plan, BJP will announce its new national president on January 20, 2026. The event is being considered an important milestone in the party's history, and Nabin's election is expected to bring a new wave of energy and unity to the party.
