In such a situation, emergency restrictions are imposed to immediately reduce the sources of pollution like vehicles, dust from construction works and industrial emissions.

Enforcement agencies have been empowered to take strict action on the spot. Vehicles violating GRAP-4 or GRAP-3 norms, especially trucks carrying construction material or vehicles entering Delhi illegally, can be immediately seized. In such a situation, drivers have been advised to be cautious.
