These rumours spread rapidly on platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and X, creating confusion and anxiety among students and parents on the very first day of the examination.
However, the National Testing Agency (NTA), the official conducting body of JEE Main, has firmly denied these allegations and termed them completely false and misleading. The agency clarified that the JEE Main 2026 examination is being conducted under strict security protocols and that no paper leak has taken place.
Soon after the morning shift of the exam concluded at several centres, screenshots and messages began circulating on social media claiming access to the JEE Main question paper. Some posts even alleged that answers were being sold through paid groups. These unverified messages quickly went viral, raising concerns among aspirants preparing for upcoming shifts.
Given the high stakes of the JEE Main examination, which serves as the gateway to top engineering institutions, such rumours naturally caused panic among students and their families.
Reacting swiftly, the NTA issued an official statement through its verified X (formerly Twitter) account. The agency clearly stated that the paper leak claims are baseless and part of an organised attempt to mislead candidates.
According to the NTA, these fake posts are designed to exploit students by luring them into fraudulent groups that demand money or personal details in exchange for alleged exam content. The agency assured that all examination centres are closely monitored and that the integrity of the examination process remains intact.
In its advisory, the NTA warned that many of these viral messages are connected to online scams. Some fraudsters ask students to join paid Telegram or WhatsApp groups, while others request sensitive personal information under the pretext of providing question papers or answer keys.
The agency emphasised that sharing personal details or making payments based on such claims could put students at serious risk of financial fraud and data misuse.
The NTA has strongly advised candidates and parents to rely only on official channels for updates related to JEE Main 2026. The official website of the agency remains the sole authentic source of information regarding exam schedules, guidelines, and announcements.
Students are urged to ignore any unofficial messages, links, or social media posts that promise exam content or inside information.
The JEE Main 2026 session is scheduled to continue until January 29. Candidates appearing in the remaining exam days are advised to stay focused and avoid unnecessary stress caused by rumours.
