JEE Main 2026 Guidelines: The JEE exam is considered the most important exam for admission to IITs and other engineering colleges. The JEE exam is conducted in two phases - JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The top 2.5 lakh candidates who qualify in the JEE Main exam are considered eligible for JEE Advanced. The JEE Main exam is currently being conducted at various centers nationwide. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released important guidelines for the JEE Main 2026 exam.

All details related to NTA JEE Main 2026 can be checked on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The National Testing Agency has advised JEE Main candidates to download their admit cards and carry them to the examination center. No candidate will be allowed entry into the hall without the JEE Main 2026 admit card. It is also mandatory to carry an original photo ID and a recent photograph. JEE Main Exam 2026 Schedule
The JEE Main exam will conclude on January 29, 2026. However, the JEE Main exam will not be held on January 23, 2026, at examination centers in West Bengal. January 23, 2026, is Saraswati Puja, a day of special significance in West Bengal, and therefore, the exam will not be held there on that day.

Download your JEE Main Admit Card and carefully check the date, shift, centre, reporting time, and gate closing time mentioned on it.

Reach the JEE Main exam centre well in advance. Please note that entry will not be permitted after the gate closing time.

Carry your Admit Card (A4 size print), one original photo identity card, and one passport-size photograph.

Candidates whose Aadhaar authentication has not been completed must report to the centre early for biometric verification.

Electronic devices, watches, bags, papers, food items, and water are strictly prohibited (except for items permitted for candidates with diabetes).

The examination will be computer-based (CBT), and the entire process will be under CCTV surveillance; strict action will be taken against those using unfair means.
