Self-reliant village echoes with human chain in Karmari – message of developed India

Chhattisgarh News: An awareness program was organized under VB-G Ram Ji (Developed India Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission – Rural) in Gram Panchayat Karmari of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district, which has tribal majority and agriculture based livelihood. In the program, the villagers formed a human chain and gave the message of “Self-reliant Village – Developed India”. During this period, enthusiasm and collective participation among the villagers regarding the scheme was clearly visible.

Aajeevika Dabris will increase employment and income
Under the programme, convergence based livelihood ponds, agricultural works and construction of fish ponds were observed. These works are being carried out in mutual coordination between Agriculture, Horticulture, CREDA and Forest Department. These dabris will promote fish farming, irrigation facilities, pulses-oilseed cultivation and horticulture activities, which will provide sustainable livelihood and additional income opportunities to tribal and marginal farmers.

Chhattisgarh News: Success of schemes only through local participation
District Panchayat President Smt. Namrata Singh, while explaining the objectives of the scheme to the villagers, said that overall development of villages is possible through local employment generation and convergence model. He emphasized that the success of any scheme is not possible without active participation, transparency and community ownership at the village level and VB-Ji Ram Ji is based on these principles.

Fish farming got encouragement
During the program, fish nets were distributed to beneficiaries Mr. Vinod Kumar and Mr. Dalpat Sai Mehru Ram. This will promote fish farming and increase the enthusiasm of villagers towards self-employment. The beneficiaries told that along with fish farming, they will also do pulses and oilseed farming, which will continuously increase their income and strengthen the financial condition of the family.

Chhattisgarh News: Villagers told about the initiative of all round development
Villagers described the VB-Ji Ram Ji Yojana as an important step towards self-reliance and all-round development for the tribal-dominated and agriculture-based district. The program concluded with the pledge “India will develop only when villages are self-reliant”.

Union Ministry praised on social media
The event held in Karmari was praised by the Union Ministry of Rural Development on the social media platform X. While sharing photos and videos to the program, the Ministry described it as an inspiring initiative of rural development.
