In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, a huge crowd of devotees gathered for a holy bath in Triveni on Basant Panchami, the great festival of worship of Mother Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge. The Basant Panchami bathing festival of Magh Mela held on the banks of Triveni was completed safely. During this period, more than 3.56 crore people took a holy dip.
Magh Mela officer Rishiraj says that this figure of holy bath in Basant Panchami has left behind the number of devotees of Mahakumbh 2025. Rishiraj says that till now in Magh Mela 2026, more than 15 crore devotees have taken a holy dip in Triveni. This wave of faith on the ghats of Sangam reveals the unprecedented system of government and administration. On the Basant Panchami bath of Magh Mela, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also congratulated all the devotees who took bath in the Sangam.
On this festival of Magh Mela, all the prominent saints and religious leaders, including the residents of Kalpa, who were meditating in the fair area, took a holy dip. Puri Peethadhishwar Shankaracharya Swami Nischalanand Saraswati reached the Triveni banks with his disciples. Shankaracharya Swami Nischalanand Saraswati, who reached Sangam Nose on foot from the place designated by the administration, took a holy bath with complete simplicity and faith.
