Kollam: A temple priest has been arrested by the police for repeatedly raping a 16-year-old girl. The incident took place in Chithra. 22 year old Abhil, resident of Chithra, has been caught by the police. He and Pujari were in a relationship since the girl was in 8th class. Since last September, the accused raped the girl several times. For the first time, he came to the girl's house and raped her. When the girl asked to tell about this at home, the priest threatened her and made her a victim of his lust several times.

After this the girl went into deep mental stress. In the end he also tried to commit suicide by taking sleeping pills and cutting the vein of his hand. During counseling in the hospital, the girl told about the exploitation she faced. After this the hospital people informed the police. The police recorded the girl's statement and filed a case. The accused was arrested from Kurakkod area of ​​Chithra. A case has been registered against Abhil under serious sections including POCSO. After presenting him in the court, he has been sent on remand.
