Ahmedabad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoffs, according to which the IPL final will be held on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After 70 action-packed league-stage matches filled with excitement, drama, thrill and entertainment, all eyes will now be on Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, where the much-awaited Qualifier 1 will be played between the top two teams on 29th May. After that, exciting eliminator matches will be played on 30th May.
The excitement will increase as the exciting Qualifier 2 and the final will be held at the world’s largest cricket stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This prestigious ground had previously hosted the final in 2022 and 2023. It is noteworthy that, during the debut season of Gujarat Titans in the year 2022, Ahmedabad was limited to only two matches due to COVID-19 protocol. The Titans won the title that year and the final in 2023 will also be held at this venue. Qualifier 2 will be a match between the loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator, which will be played on Sunday, June 1. The much-awaited title match to crown the winner of the 18th season of IPL will be played on Tuesday, June 3.
Hyderabad and Kolkata were initially scheduled to host the last four matches before the tournament was postponed for a week. The IPL Governing Council decided the new venues for the playoffs keeping in mind the weather conditions and other parameters. IPL match number 65 shifted to Bengaluru.
Whereas due to adverse weather in Bengaluru, IPL match number 65 between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has been shifted to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. So far three teams have confirmed their place in the playoffs. Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings. There will be a fierce competition between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals for the final place.
