Kanye West has made a public gesture of apologizing for the controversy surrounding his anti-semitic remarks. The rapper/producer has been continuously criticized for shocking statements, hate-laden lyrics, and social media behaviour, and this time he has decided to take out a full-page ad in The Wall Street Journal to apologize formally.Kanya West declared in the post that he does not align with extremist or hateful ideologies and apologizes to the Jewish community for the comments that were aimed at them. He was ashamed of the harm his words had done, not only to the people they directly affected but also to his global audience, and he felt most embarrassed by that fact.

The musician provided additional background information on his acknowledged mental health issues by revealing that a major car accident in the early 2000s could have caused brain traumas which, in turn, predisposed him to bipolar disorder. Kanye West was of the opinion that the disorder was not detected for several years, during which time he had very extreme manic episodes that affected his behaviour and judgment.

During that time, he could not fathom the reality of his actions and would often accuse others of misunderstanding or exaggerating what he did. Actually, he now understands that he was losing touch with reality and behaving spontaneously. Kanye has confessed that those times are when he was most likely to have developed a negative pattern of dealing with persons near to him, and some of the things he does not remember fully.

Nevertheless, West emphasized that the condition does not excuse the damage in any way that was done. He recognized that his words instilled fear, puzzlement, and humiliation in many people and declared that he is accountable for this harm. West has also made a direct appeal to the Black community, along with the others, where he thanked them for their steady support throughout the years and even apologized for letting them down. He mentioned that he acknowledges that his impact extends beyond just his immediate circle, and that his words can indeed have quite serious implications worldwide.

The rapper revealed that currently, he is concentrating on re-establishing a stable life for himself. He brought up that he is undergoing medical treatment, therapy, keeping physically fit, and making healthier lifestyle choices as some of the elements of his journey towards finding balance and getting back control. Instead of unequivocally asking for forgiveness, West expressed his desire to win it eventually through the consistent changes he would make.

The apology comes after years of public backlash at West’s increasingly provocative behaviour, including both music and online posts, which in many cases were perceived as openly hateful by the general public.
