WhatsApp's paid plan may be rolling out soon. It has been spotted in a version of the Android beta. Users may get features like premium stickers and themes.
Recently, there were reports that Meta is planning to introduce paid plans for its core products like Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Under this plan, users will be able to access some extra features by paying a fee, similar to YouTube Premium. Now, a report details the benefits users will receive with a WhatsApp paid subscription. It's worth noting that Meta has been spending heavily on AI lately, and these new paid plans are likely an attempt to recoup those costs.
WhatsApp's Paid Plan May Arrive Soon
The upcoming paid subscription service has been spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android phones. This indicates that Meta is working on it, and it could be rolled out soon. According to reports, users will first have to join a waitlist. Once the paid plans are rolled out, they will start receiving the extra functionalities.
What Features Will the Paid Plan Include?
In its premium plan, WhatsApp may offer premium stickers, app themes, and the ability to pin more than three chats. Users will be able to set dedicated chat ringtones for a more personalized messaging experience. They may also get the option to customize the WhatsApp app icon. Users will be able to choose their preferred icon from several options provided by WhatsApp. In addition to these, users may also be offered several extra AI features.
Will Everyone Have to Pay?
Not everyone will have to pay to use WhatsApp. Meta has made it clear that the core experience of the app will remain free. This means you will be able to send messages and make calls for free, just like now, but if you want to use the premium features, you will have to pay. Information regarding the price of WhatsApp's plan is not yet available.
