After the death of Ajit Pawar, his wife Sunetra Pawar took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Saturday. During this time, Sunetra Pawar has been given the responsibility of Sports and Youth Welfare Department, State Excise and Minority Department. However, the finance portfolio held by Ajit Pawar has not been given to Sunetra.
It is being told that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will keep this department with himself. But, it has also come to light that NCP leaders are demanding to hand over this department to their party. At present, there has been no reaction on this from the prominent leaders of both the parties. However, discussions were going on that all the departments which were with Ajit Pawar will be given to Sunetra.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor giving information about the ministry. It is being told that the decision on this has been taken only after talks with Sunetra Pawar. Now along with the Finance Ministry, the Planning Department will also remain with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The same budget will be presented this year i.e. in 2026. It is believed that due to his experience, Fadnavis will keep this ministry with himself for now. Because they are the ones who have to prepare for the budget to be presented this year. Let us tell you that Fadnavis had the finance portfolio in 2023 also.
After Sunetra Pawar became the Deputy CM, her nephew Rohit Pawar's reaction has come. He said that it is a matter of happiness that Sunetra Kaki took oath as the first woman Deputy Chief Minister of the state. The truth is that no one can take the place of Ajit Dada, but at least we will be able to see a glimpse of Ajit Dada there in the form of Sunetra Kaki. Despite the grief like a mountain on our heads and despite all of us being in mourning, I am not able to understand how to wish him good wishes..!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Sunetra Pawar after being elected Deputy Chief Minister. PM Modi wrote in a post on his social media handle I am confident that she will work tirelessly for the welfare of the people of the state and fulfill the vision of late Ajit Dada Pawar.
