Namo Bharat passengers can now book Indian Railways tickets directly by clicking on the IRCTC icon available on the Namo Bharat app. Similarly, Namo Bharat tickets can also be easily purchased through the IRCTC Rail Connect app.

This is great news for millions of commuters traveling in Delhi-NCR. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have collaborated to launch a seamless ticket booking service. This digital integration has made end-to-end travel for both Indian Railways and Namo Bharat passengers easier, faster, and more convenient than ever before.

Direct Ticket Booking from One Platform to Another

Under the new system, Namo Bharat passengers can now book Indian Railways tickets directly by clicking on the IRCTC icon available on the NCRTC's Namo Bharat app. Similarly, passengers booking train tickets with Delhi as their destination through the IRCTC Rail Connect app can easily purchase Namo Bharat tickets through the NCRTC icon in their booking details. This has enabled complete end-to-end functional integration between the two digital platforms.

Relief from Repeatedly Entering Information

This integrated ticketing system provides passengers with a simple and intuitive experience. There will no longer be a need to repeatedly enter personal and travel information on different apps. After booking an e-ticket through IRCTC, the option for an NCRTC ticket appears on the PNR confirmation page, which can also be accessed from the train ticket booking history.

Expanding the Vision of One India – One Ticket

This initiative by NCRTC and IRCTC is in line with the Government of India's "One India – One Ticket" vision. Its aim is to connect various modes of transport to provide passengers with integrated, convenient, and time-saving travel, making both planning and completing journeys easier. Travel from Meerut to Delhi and beyond has become easier.

For example, a passenger traveling from Meerut to Delhi via Namo Bharat can now book their onward long-distance Indian Railways train ticket through the same system. Upon arriving at the Namo Bharat station in Anand Vihar, which is directly connected to the Anand Vihar railway station, the passenger can catch their train without any additional hassle.

The system is also integrated with the Metro.

It is noteworthy that NCRTC recently integrated its system with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Through this integration, passengers can book Namo Bharat and Delhi Metro tickets using each other's mobile apps, further strengthening multi-modal connectivity in Delhi-NCR.

Through all these initiatives, NCRTC is continuously moving towards developing an integrated, efficient, and passenger-centric transportation system in Delhi-NCR. This system is digitally enabled, environmentally friendly, and designed keeping in mind the daily needs of passengers.

Focus on both Digital and Physical Integration

In addition to digital integration, work is also underway on physical integration at Namo Bharat stations. The aim is to ensure easy and convenient interchange with Indian Railways, Metro, and bus terminals, thereby further enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers.

Currently, 55 kilometers of the 82-kilometer Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South, is operational. As this corridor expands in the future, such integrations will play a crucial role in reducing traffic congestion, saving time, and promoting sustainable and green transportation.
