New Delhi, 01 February 2026: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced changes in the prices of many items during the Budget 2026-27. Solar devices, shoes, mobile batteries, ovens and medicines for serious diseases will become cheaper. Foreign travel will also become cheaper. Meanwhile, liquor, scrap and minerals will become more expensive. This budget will have a direct impact on the general public.

• Medicines for 7 serious diseases will become cheaper.
• 17 cancer medicines will become cheaper.
• Diabetes medicines will become cheaper.
• Foreign travel will be cheaper than before.
• CNG and biogas will also become cheaper.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that 17 cancer medicines will become cheaper. Medicines for seven rare diseases will also become cheaper. Custom duty on medicines and medical devices has also been reduced.

These products will become more expensive

The Finance Minister had said that liquor, scrap and minerals will become more expensive. He had also announced that the fiscal deficit is estimated to be 4.3% of GDP in the financial year 2026-27.
