Nitish government opened the box in Bihar, presented a budget of Rs 3.47 lakh crore

Nitish Kumar's government presented a budget of Rs 3.47 lakh crore in the Bihar Assembly on Tuesday. This time the budget has been said to be focused on 'knowledge, science and desire'. 'Iman' and 'respect' have also been added to it. This time the budget is much bigger than last year (3.17 lakh crore). The government hopes to collect about Rs 65,800 crore through its taxes in 2026-27.

Rs 7,724 crore will be spent on ongoing schemes (social welfare) for the poor and backward people of the society. The Finance Minister said that this budget is a big step towards fulfilling the slogan of 'Development with Justice' and making Bihar developed. In simple words, the government has opened its treasury this time keeping in mind the needs of education, technology and common people.

Budget of knowledge, science and desire

While presenting the budget, Finance Minister Vijendra Yadav said that this budget has been prepared with special attention to honesty, knowledge, science, desire and respect. The Finance Minister finished his budget speech in just 11 minutes. Vijendra Yadav also mentioned the much talked about Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana, which was implemented before the assembly elections held in November last year.

He said that an amount of Rs 10,000 was transferred to the accounts of 1.56 crore women, who would have used this amount to start, they would soon be given an additional Rs 2 lakh. The financial condition of the state has also been described as strong in the budget. It said that the revenue deficit in 2024-25 was only 0.04 percent of GSDP, although the fiscal deficit was 4.16 percent, which is more than the prescribed limit of 3.0 percent.
