The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for JEE Main 2026 Session 2. This is an important opportunity for students who want to pursue engineering or architecture. The NTA has clearly stated that candidates should not wait until the last date and apply online promptly. The entire registration process is being conducted on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam will be held in April. The exam will be conducted on different dates between April 2nd and April 9th. The exam will be held in two shifts. The first shift will be from 9 AM to 12 PM, while the second shift will be from 3 PM to 6 PM. This time too, the exam will be conducted at several centers across India and abroad.
The last date for registration is February 25th. Candidates can fill out the online form until 9 PM. The deadline for submitting the application fee is 11:50 PM on the same day. The NTA has advised candidates to avoid filling out the form on the last day to prevent server issues.
Know the Fee Structure
Regarding the fee structure, General category candidates will have to pay ₹1000 for a single paper. The fee is ₹800 for General-EWS and OBC-NCL male candidates, as well as female candidates of all categories. SC, ST, PWD, and transgender candidates will have to pay a fee of ₹500. Regarding eligibility, students who have passed their 12th class or equivalent examination in the last three years can apply for JEE Main 2026. The good news is that there is no age limit for this exam.
Paper-1 and Paper-2 Options
JEE Main consists of two papers. Paper-1 is for BE and BTech programs, while Paper-2 is for BArch and BPlanning programs. The exam will be conducted in 13 different languages, giving students the flexibility to take the exam in their preferred language. Last year, NTA removed the optional questions from Section B, and the same system will be followed this year as well.
Looking at last year's data, more than 10 lakh students registered for JEE Main Session-2, of which approximately 9.92 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. This clearly indicates that the competition is quite tough.
