Amidst the proposed peace talks between Iran and America in Oman, jailed opposition leader Mir Hussein Mousavi has opened a front against Ayatollah Khamenei. Mousavi has issued a letter, in which it has been said that the game is over in Iran. According to Moosavi now iran People's rule is coming. This letter of Moosavi is being considered very important in two ways.
1. Mousavi is the first major opposition leader who has raised the alarm of rebellion from Iran against the Khamenei government. Till now, no leader has opposed the Islamic Republic on a large scale regarding the chaos.
2. This is being considered a blow for former Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. Because till now Pahlavi was the most vocal leader of the opposition, but now Mousavi has spoiled his game. Mousavi has also contested the presidential election.
83 year old Mir Hossein Mousavi is considered a reformist leader in Iran. Mousavi was once considered a leader close to Ayatollah Khomeini. Mousavi was also the Prime Minister from 1981 to 1989. However, after the arrival of Ali Khamenei, Mousavi was sidelined. In 2009, Mousavi also contested the presidential elections, but he was not successful.
In 2023, Mousavi raised the flag of rebellion against the Islamic Republic, since then he is in jail. Mousavi has a strong hold on the Arab Spring. In 2011, Mousavi rebelled through Arab countries, however, he could not achieve much success at that time.
Moosavi has written in the letter – How many times will people have to say that they do not want this system and do not believe your lies? Just Enough. The game is over.
This is the first time that someone from inside the system has challenged the Islamic Republic. That too to the Islamic Republic, for which Mousavi had fought a long battle with Khomeini.
News agency Reuters had recently published a report quoting intelligence sources. It was said that Iran is afraid of people taking to the streets again.
In such a situation, Mousavi's letter has increased the tension of the Khamenei government within Iran. At the same time, Mousavi's coming forward is also a shock for Reza Pahlavi. Because America does not want to fight Iran's war by putting Pahlavi forward.
In January 2026, when the rebellion in Iran was at its peak, Pahlavi had tried to meet US President Donald Trump, but Trump did not give him time to meet.
