How to increase WiFi speed: Do you also have WiFi at home, but the speed is very slow? If yes, then this article can be helpful for you. When the internet speed is slow, many of our important tasks get interrupted. Videos buffer, the audio cuts out during online meetings, and using your mobile or laptop becomes frustrating. Now, when this happens, people often think it's the network company's fault, but there can be other reasons as well. Here, we are telling you about this, and also what can be done to increase Wi-Fi speed.

Why does WiFi speed slow down?
In fact, sometimes you don't realize it, but several unknown connections get connected to your Wi-Fi. Now, if someone is connected to your Wi-Fi without permission, not only does your speed decrease, but your privacy and data can also be at risk. The good news is that you can easily find out which devices are connected to your Wi-Fi using your mobile phone.

How to find out?
Step 1 - Keep track of your devices

First, find out which devices belong to you, such as your mobile phone, laptop, and TV.
On iPhone: Settings > General > About
On Android: Settings > About Phone > Status
Here you will find information about the MAC Address and IP Address.

Step 2 - Open the router's admin page
Type the router's IP address in your phone's browser, such as 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
Then log in by entering the router's username and password (this information is usually written on the back of the router or on the box).

Step 3 - View the list of connected devices
Now go to the 'Connected Devices', 'Attached Devices', or 'DHCP Client List' option.
Here you will see all the connected devices.

Step 4 - Remove unknown devices and increase security
If you see any unknown devices, immediately change your Wi-Fi password.
Turn off WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup).
Turn on MAC Filtering. Keep your router's software updated and use a unique Wi-Fi name (SSID).

If your Wi-Fi is slow, it's essential to first check if anyone is using your internet without your permission. By following the simple steps mentioned above, you can not only increase your internet speed but also secure your network.
