Women and children no longer need to visit a police station to report crimes or seek protection. In a major step toward strengthening safety and accessibility, the police administration has introduced a direct, home-based complaint system that allows victims to register grievances simply by making a phone call.
Under this new initiative, 53 dedicated contact numbers have been issued to officers in charge of Mission Shakti centers across various police stations. These numbers are specifically meant to help women and children report cases of harassment, violence, cybercrime, abuse, and other criminal incidents without fear or hesitation.
According to senior police officials, the new system has been implemented on government instructions to ensure that victims receive swift, sensitive, and confidential support. Each Mission Shakti center is managed by a trained officer who will personally handle complaints received on the issued CUG (Closed User Group) numbers.
Police Commissioner Amarendra Kumar Sengar confirmed that these numbers have been officially activated across 53 police stations to improve response time and eliminate barriers faced by women and children in accessing law enforcement.
ACP Women Crime, Saumya Pandey, stated that once a complaint is received, immediate police action will be initiated. Officers will reach the spot without delay, assess the situation, and take necessary legal steps against the accused.
Importantly, after action is taken, the Mission Shakti center in-charge will also seek feedback from the complainant to ensure satisfaction and transparency. This step has been introduced to improve accountability and trust in the system.
The initiative operates under the Uttar Pradesh government’s zero-tolerance policy toward crimes against women and children and forms a key part of the Mission Shakti Phase 5 program.
One of the most critical aspects of this system is complete confidentiality. Police officials have assured that the identity of the complainant and details of the case will be kept strictly private.
The victim’s name will not be disclosed at any stage, and all sensitive information will be handled with care. Authorities emphasized that women and children should not hesitate to reach out, as their safety and privacy are top priorities.
To ensure smooth coordination, the 53 contact numbers have been divided zone-wise:

This initiative marks a significant shift toward victim-centric policing, removing the fear, delay, and inconvenience often associated with visiting police stations. By bringing law enforcement directly to homes, authorities aim to create a safer environment for women and children across the region.
