Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has made a big attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He has given a sharp reaction to the Chief Minister's statement regarding religion-based reservation. He has also targeted Congress, accusing it of doing appeasement politics and betraying social justice. Kishan Reddy said that the people of Telangana are watching everything and will give a befitting reply to Congress and Revanth Reddy in the coming time.
Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy said that recently PM Modi had raised questions on the policies of Congress and said that this party should change its name to Muslim League Congress. Congress politics is now limited only to vote bank and appeasement. Union Minister Kishan Reddy alleges that Congress is working on the same thinking in Telangana also. They have nothing to do with the important issues of the state. They do not have to talk about the development of the state. Just want to do politics of vote bank and appeasement.
Kishan Reddy said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has already said that Congress means Muslims and Muslims mean Congress. Now the Chief Minister's announcement of making 4 percent Muslim reservation permanent by filing documents in the Supreme Court is part of the same agenda. The Union Minister said that the 4 percent Muslim reservation implemented by the Congress government in undivided Andhra Pradesh was twice declared unconstitutional by the High Court. Despite this, Congress continued this system by taking a stay from the Supreme Court.
Union Minister Kishan Reddy claims that Congress's strategy is working at two levels. On one hand, 4 percent reservation on the basis of religion and on the other hand, giving additional 10 percent reservation by including them in the category of Backward Class (BC). In this way, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is trying to implement a total of 14 percent reservation for Muslims. If you look at it, it is completely wrong. Union Minister has raised questions regarding caste survey.
He said that under the guise of survey, an attempt has been made to downplay the backward castes in Telangana. He said that the actual population of backward castes in the state is 46 percent, whereas the Congress, while declaring it to be 56 percent, has included 10 percent Muslims in the list of backward classes. Union Minister Kishan Reddy alleged that 42 percent reservation was fixed for backward classes and Muslims together in local bodies, due to which the actual backward class quota was reduced from 34 percent to 32 percent. If the court had not banned this, the backward classes would have suffered serious losses.
Referring to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, the Union Minister said that in 2020, out of 50 seats reserved for backward classes, 31 seats were won by non-backward class candidates, due to which the real backward classes did not get their rights. Kishan Reddy said that now by adding 4 percent separate reservation on the basis of religion and adding 10 percent to the backward class quota, Congress is trying to snatch away the rights of the real backward classes.
