Addressing a meeting in Nizamabad, Telangana, Asaduddin Owaisi has once again attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, "I was listening to PM Modi's speech in the Rajya Sabha. He said that the population in the whole world is getting old, while the population of our country is young. I wish someone would stand up and ask the Prime Minister of the country that if 60 percent of the country's population is below 40 years of age, then what employment opportunities have you created for them? What skills have you taught these people?" Owaisi also said that BJP has created dissatisfaction in the hearts of the youth of India.
He further said, "The Muslim population in this country will never exceed the population of our Hindus. Now they are realizing that after 20-30 years, the population of the country will become old. RSS's Mohan Bhagwat is asking people to have 3 children, although he himself is not doing so, that is another thing...
Owaisi said that earlier he used to say that he would bring a bill on population control. They used to criticize us, but now they have realized what effect it has on a country if its population gets old.”
On Pakistan boycotting the T20 World Cup match against India, Owaisi said that India is hosting the T20 World Cup and the 'useless' Pakistani team says that they will not play the match against India. He said, “You should have asked them (Pakistan) that if you will not play then why come here and leave from here. But you are sitting quietly and listening. Owaisi further targeted the Modi government and accused it of remaining silent on the China (border) issue.
Owaisi's attack came when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had praised India's young population in the Rajya Sabha earlier this week and also stressed on the global challenge of increasing age. He had described the demographic profile of the country as a major strength.
The Prime Minister had said, "The biggest thing is that even the richest countries in the world are ageing. Their population has reached the age which we call old age. Our country is reaching new heights of development and is becoming younger day by day. It is a country with a young population."
