Perfume has become a part of lifestyle today, no one leaves the house without it these days. People’s passion for perfume is so much that they keep perfumes of different brands with different fragrances. But if used excessively or in the wrong way, it can also have some disadvantages. Let us know the possible problems caused by wearing perfume.

Allergy and skin problems: The chemicals present in perfume (like alcohol, synthetic fragrance) can cause problems like itching, rashes, burning sensation, darkening of the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Respiratory problems: Strong fragrance can trigger headache, dizziness, difficulty in breathing and asthma. Some people also get migraine.

Hormonal effects: According to some studies, chemicals like phthalates present in perfumes can affect the hormonal system of the body, which can increase problems in the long run.

Burning sensation in eyes and nose: Applying perfume directly near the neck or face can cause problems like watery eyes, burning sensation in the nose, sneezing.

More danger for children and pregnant women: Strong fragrance can be harmful for children and pregnant women, hence caution is necessary.

How to use perfume safely?

  2. Do a patch test before applying directly on the skin.
  3. Do not apply too much quantity.
  4. Spray lightly on clothes instead of neck.
  5. Give preference to natural or chemical-free fragrance.
