Mamata Banerjee's government of West Bengal announced to increase the amount of 'Lakshmi Bhandar' in the state budget. Under the 'Lakshmi Bhandar' scheme, it has been promised to increase the amount given to women from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 per month. The opposition has raised questions about Mamata Banerjee's freebies politics and termed it an election announcement.

meanwhile, Trinamool Congress MLA Shaukat Mollah has warned of stopping the allowance given to women under 'Lakshmi Bhandar'. Due to this the politics of the state has heated up.

Addressing a gathering in Bhangarh in South 24 Parganas district, Shaukat Mollah warned that if he lost his seat, government services or money would be stopped.

Government money will stop if you lose

He also claimed that wherever he has lost, government money has been stopped. He said, “I have stopped the money in the three areas of Bhangar from where I lost.” Shaukat also said, “Dada will eat and uncle will sing! Mamta Banerjee will give money and then speak ill of her, this will not happen.”

Shaukat also gave a message to the Trinamool workers of the area that the ISF workers whose names have appeared in the CMRO should not get money. Shaukat warned that Lakshmi Bhandar and other government services would be closed in the coming days. It is noteworthy that Trinamool Congress had lost Chalatberia, Shanpukur and Polarhat 1 areas of Bhangar to ISF in the Lok Sabha elections.

Politics heated up due to Shaukat Mollah's statement

On the other hand, politics has heated up after Shaukat Mollah's statement. Even Trinamool Congress has distanced itself from the MLA's statement.

Trinamool spokesperson Tanmay Ghosh clearly said, "This is not the party's position. He is speaking at a personal level. We have lost on many seats in Alipurduar and East Medinipur too. There too, money is being given for government schemes. The party will definitely speak on behalf of the party."

Sukant Majumdar's promise to make Bengal developed

On the other hand, Union Minister of State Sukant Majumdar said that if BJP government is formed in West Bengal, then the Chief Minister will work with the Central Government to prepare a strong budget keeping the people in mind, the aim of which will be to make West Bengal developed.

Dr. Sukant Majumdar expressed deep concern and said that the people of Bengal are being affected and they are being forced to go to other states. He alleged that Trinamool Congress has actually become the biggest enemy of Bengalis. Referring to the Rejinagar incident, he accused Trinamool minister Siddikullah Choudhary of beating up a minor and said it reflected the thinking of the ruling party.
