T20 World Cup 2026 IND vs PAK: t20 world cup 2026 India and Pakistan have started their respective campaigns with victory. While India defeated USA in the first match, Pakistan won over Netherlands. Now the match between India and Pakistan is to be held on 15th February, but this match was boycotted by PCB. After which there has been an uproar. ICC has also warned PCB.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chairman Aminul Islam and International Cricket Council (ICC) Vice Chairman Imran Khawaja in Lahore on Sunday.

This meeting was held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, pictures of which have been shared by PCB. This meeting has taken place at a time when efforts to end the deadlock over the India-Pakistan rivalry have intensified and all parties seem to be moving towards a solution.

Why did Pakistan boycott?

In fact, Pakistan had earlier threatened to boycott the proposed match against India in Colombo. PCB’s argument was that it was showing solidarity in support of Bangladesh, because ICC had refused to move Bangladesh’s matches out of India despite citing security reasons. Pakistan believed that even when there were objections regarding security, the ICC did not give any relief in favor of Bangladesh, hence it adopted a tough stance in protest.

Why did the entry of Scotland increase the controversy?

The situation became more complicated when ICC decided to include Scotland in the tournament instead of Bangladesh. After this decision, the controversy in the cricket administrative corridors deepened and Pakistan’s stance became more strict. According to sources, ICC has asked Pakistan to clarify on what basis it can use the ‘Force Majeure’ clause to withdraw from the match against India.

After this question, pressure on PCB increased and Pakistan had to rethink its stand. According to the report, the situation changed when the Sri Lanka Cricket Board sent an e-mail to the PCB requesting them to end the boycott and find a solution in the interest of the game.

What will be the IND vs PAK match?

It is clear from the indications received after the meeting held in Lahore that Pakistan’s stance has now become much softer than before. It is being told that the talks took place in a positive atmosphere and all parties gave priority to the larger interest of cricket. In such a situation, it is expected that the teams of India and Pakistan will face each other in Colombo on 15th February and the cricket fans will not have to miss this high voltage match.
