Voting for parliamentary elections is to be held in Bangladesh after three days on 12th February. This is the first election being conducted by the interim government of Mohammad Yunus after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government. Violence against minorities and the ban on Awami League have raised questions on the fairness of elections in Bangladesh and now just three days before the elections, two bad news have come for the Yunus government.

The Yunus government of Bangladesh has sought help from the UN to investigate the murder of Usman Hadi. He has sent a diplomatic message in this regard to the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). He has sought help from the UN for a 'fair, non-discriminatory and prompt' investigation into Hadi's murder.

He claims that a group and state machinery are involved in Hadi's murder.

It said that the Bangladesh Permanent Mission in Geneva had sent a diplomatic message (note verbale) to OHCHR on 6 February.
