The order to register an FIR against 20 policemen including ASP Anuj Chaudhary in the Sambhal violence case of Uttar Pradesh was challenged in the Allahabad High Court. Those petitions will be heard on Monday. Uttar Pradesh government and ASP Anuj Chaudhary have filed separate petitions challenging the order passed on January 9 by the CJM Court of Sambhal. The court had ordered to register a case against 20 police officers including Anuj Chaudhary.
The order to register a case under 156 (3) by CJM Chandausi District Sambhal has been sent to the Government of Uttar Pradesh and Anuj Chaudhary Have challenged by filing separate petitions.
The CJM court has ordered to register an FIR on charges of firing at Mohammad Alam during the Sambhal violence on 24 November 2024. The then CJM of Chandausi Sambhal, Vibhanshu Sudhir had ordered to register an FIR against Anuj Chaudhary and other police personnel.
A petition has been filed demanding cancellation of the CJM's order dated January 9, 2026. On Monday, the single bench of Justice Samit Gopal will hear the petitions.
This entire case is related to the violence that took place in Sambhal on 24 November 2024. A youth named Mohammad Alam was injured by a bullet during the violence. The police have made him an accused. After that Alam's father Mohammad Yameen filed an application in the CJM court. This application was filed under section 156(3).
Alleged that the police had deliberately opened fire on his son. On this, Sambhal CJM Vibhanshu Sudhir had ordered to register an FIR against the then CO Anuj Kumar Chaudhary, Inspector Anuj Tomar and other policemen.
Anuj Chaudhary has been promoted. He is currently holding the post of ASP in Firozabad, while the CJM who gave the order has also been transferred. He is currently posted in Sultanpur.
This case will be heard today in the single bench of Justice Samit Gopal. Earlier, during the hearing on February 2, the court had fixed the next date as February 9. Complainant Yameen has been made the defendant in the petition filed by the UP government.
On the other hand, in another important case, accused Mohammad Alam has already got anticipatory bail from Allahabad High Court till 25th February.
