Collision Reported During Early Morning Hours

Police officials said a call reporting a serious accident was received at the Ghazipur police station at approximately 6:43 am. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene near the toll plaza, a busy stretch that connects Delhi with neighboring Ghaziabad.

Preliminary findings indicate that a Kia Seltos traveling from the Ghaziabad side crashed into a container truck close to the toll booths. The exact circumstances leading to the collision are yet to be determined, and investigators are examining whether speed, visibility, or other factors contributed to the incident.

Two Women Declared Dead at the Scene

Upon arrival, police personnel found two women occupants of the car unresponsive. They were later declared dead at the spot. The victims have been identified as 38-year-old Deepanjali and 55-year-old Neelam Garg.

According to a senior officer, one of the women was found outside the vehicle, suggesting the impact of the crash was severe. The other was trapped in the front passenger seat and had to be carefully extricated. The condition of the car indicated a powerful collision, particularly on the front side.

The bodies were subsequently transported to the LBS Mortuary for post-mortem examination. Authorities said the autopsy will help determine the precise cause of death and provide further clarity on the sequence of events.

Driver and Two Children Injured

Three other occupants of the car, including the driver and two young children, sustained injuries in the crash. The driver, identified as Deepanshu Garg, was taken along with five-year-old Vivan and three-year-old Vashu to Max Hospital for medical treatment.

Hospital sources have not publicly disclosed detailed updates on their condition, but police confirmed that all three were conscious when shifted for treatment. Their injuries are being assessed, and doctors are providing necessary care.

The container truck driver was present at the scene when police arrived. Officials have not yet indicated whether any arrests have been made or if charges will be filed. The truck has been taken for mechanical inspection as part of the standard procedure in fatal road accidents.

Investigation Underway

The Delhi Police have initiated a formal investigation into the incident. Officers are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby toll booths and surrounding areas to reconstruct the moments leading up to the crash. Statements from witnesses and the truck driver are also being recorded.

Traffic movement in the area was temporarily affected following the collision, with congestion reported during the morning rush hour. Authorities worked to clear the damaged vehicles and restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible.

Road safety experts have frequently raised concerns about high-speed driving and heavy vehicle movement along the Delhi-Ghaziabad corridor. However, officials have cautioned against drawing conclusions until the inquiry is completed.

Further details are expected once the forensic examination and vehicle assessments are concluded. Police have urged motorists to exercise caution, especially during early morning hours when visibility and alertness may be reduced.
