AI Impact Summit 2026: Today is the second day of the summit. Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the AI Impact Expo at Bharat Mandapam. There are about 300 exhibitions in this expo, where the benefits and effects of AI are being shown.
In a special Jeon Sanskriti exhibition, digital avatars of characters from Mahabharata and Ramayana speak in Sanskrit through hologram and give life lessons with Hindi translation. This is a fun and useful use of AI.
Today’s first session was ‘Tata AI Sakhi Immersion Program’. Mr. Vidya Muraleedharan of Tata Consultancy Services said that 1,600 rural women have been taught to use AI on smartphones. They can now easily find useful information and make their everyday lives better. This program is a good example of taking AI to every section of the society.
The second session ‘AI For Social Good’ will run throughout the day. Researchers and policy makers will be involved in this. There will be discussion on how better services can be provided to the common people through AI. The positive impact of AI will be seen in health, education and other sectors.
An important announcement is expected in the health sector today. Union Health Minister JP Nadda may launch ‘Strategy for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare for India (SAHI)’ and ‘Benchmarking Open Data Platform for Health AI (BODH)’.
These initiatives are to use AI in a safe and ethical manner in health services. This will improve diagnosis and make patient care easier.
Children’s safety is a big issue in the summit. One session focused on ‘Children Safety’. Experts in the panel said that some important steps have to be taken for the safety of children in the AI era. The content created by AI should be clearly identified so that children can know whether they are talking to AI or a human.
Emphasis is being laid on protecting against wrong content and creating a safe digital environment. UNICEF representative also demanded safe and inclusive AI.
There will be talk on AI value
Other sessions will focus on infrastructure, high performance data centers and AI value for society. The emphasis is on innovation to be done with responsibility. Today’s sessions are looking at connecting society, health and child safety with AI.
