CBSE board exams for 10th and 12th grades have begun across the country. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the 10th-grade exams from February 17th to March 11th, and the 12th-grade board exams from February 17th to April 10th, 2026. A total of 4.6 million students will appear for the board exams across both classes.

CBSE cautions students and parents
Following the commencement of the exams, the CBSE issued a notification warning students and their parents not to trust reports of paper leaks circulating on social media platforms. These are all fake news and rumors. For any information, students are advised to contact the official CBSE website, www.cbse.gov.in, or the relevant CBSE Regional Office/CBSE Headquarters in New Delhi (contact details are available on the official website).

These details are given in the notification:

As has been observed previously, some unscrupulous elements attempt to mislead students and parents by spreading fake news on various social media platforms during the examination period. Such misinformation often includes false claims of question paper leaks and the circulation of alleged question papers for the Board's Class 10/12 examinations.

Therefore, CBSE urges parents, students, schools, and all relevant stakeholders to remain vigilant and not be misled by unverified news/rumors or fake news. Believing, engaging with, or forwarding such unfounded content can cause unnecessary anxiety and confusion, and adversely impact students' preparation at this crucial stage.

The Board assures all stakeholders that, as in previous years, robust arrangements and strict measures have been put in place to ensure smooth, safe, and fair conduct of the Board examinations.

Spreading misinformation will be dealt with strictly.

According to information provided by the CBSE, any attempt to spread misinformation or disrupt the examination process will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the rules and regulations in force by the Board.

The Board encourages all stakeholders to exercise extreme caution and rely only on official information released by the CBSE through its verified official platforms regarding the Board's Class 10/12 examinations, to prevent the spread of misinformation in the larger public interest.
