Rabakavi-Banahatti: A rare case of a sheep giving birth to a lamb with eight legs, three ears, two heads and a single face has been reported in Navalagi village of Rabakavi-Banahatti taluk.

The sheep belonged to Hanamant Karigar of the village. According to local sources, the animal delivered the unusual lamb at his house.

Veterinary doctor Dr Yallappa Athani, along with Eshwar Bangi, performed a surgery to remove the lamb from the womb. Though the lamb was successfully taken out through the operation, it did not survive and died shortly after birth, reports said.

The incident drew attention from villagers due to the rare physical features of the newborn animal.
