The BRIT Awards 2026 was full of chaos this year, as Noel Gallagher was booed while accepting his award, a number of stars were bleeped out, and the In Memoriam segment was slammed by fans. Noel Gallagher's expletive-laden remark was censored as he collected the Songwriter of the Year award at the Brit Awards. The prestigious music event took place in Manchester for the first time ever.

The Oasis legend - who reconciled with his brother Liam Gallagher for a series of concerts last year following decades of bitter rivalry - faced criticism for receiving the honour, considering he hadn't put out any fresh music in the previous 12 months. Noel received a tribute video from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who lauded the Oasis icon. Taking to the stage, Noel initially expressed gratitude to his brother before acknowledging his fellow band members.

He concluded his address with a reference to his beloved Manchester City, declaring "up the f***ing blues", alluding to the club's kit colour. His remark was greeted with considerable jeering in the venue - presumably from rival Manchester United supporters.

When questioned about the backlash surrounding his win, given his lack of new releases this year, Noel responded: "I haven't written a song for two years. I'm not sure how I've got away with that one, but I'll take it", reports the Mirror.

Meanwhile, the In Memoriam segment sparked numerous viewers to express their dissatisfaction, describing it as chaotic.

"What a horrendous way to do an in memoriam segment," one viewer wrote on X.

"This #BRITs in memorium is a bit of a mess, the way the names are scattered around the screen like this," another posted.

One commented, "Random cutting to ad break! ? !".

Someone else stated, "That 'In Memoriam' bit on the #BRITsAwards was f-----g awful. Just loads of names flying on a screen."
