Savers issued an urgent recall for two perfumes part of the collection of an A-lister. The budget retailer has pulled two of Rihanna's signature fragrances over fears they contain toxic chemicals which can affect women's fertility.
Savers says certain batches of Kiss and Riri by Rihanna were found to contain chemicals banned for cosmetic use in the UK and EU. Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (Lyral) and butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) are both prohibited from sale in the UK. It has been illegal to sell products containing Lilial in Great Britain since December 15, 2022.
Lyral was removed from shelves on August 23, 2021 due to it containing high allergen potential, causing contact dermatitis and skin sensitisation.
