'I love your wife, leave her': Murder attempt accused arrested in Padubidri

Padubidri: A Flipkart delivery boy has been arrested for allegedly attempting to murder a 39-year-old man after demanding that he leave his wife. The incident took place in Inna village and was reported to the Padubidri police station.

The victim, Rakesh Mishra (39), a native of Uttar Pradesh, resides in a rented house in Inna with his wife, Nisha Mishra, and their three children. He has been working at Brightflex Company in Kanjarkatte since 2018.

Following a swift investigation, Padubidri police arrested the accused, Mohanachandra (26), a resident of Manjarapalke, within hours of the incident. He was produced before the court today (March 4).

Incident Details

On the night of March 3, Rakesh Mishra was returning home from work on his motorcycle. The accused, Mohanachandra, intercepted his bike and showed him a photo of Nisha Mishra on his mobile phone. Mohanachandra claimed he was in love with her and demanded that Rakesh leave her, threatening to kill him if he refused.

When Rakesh defended his wife and attempted to leave on his bike, the accused attacked him with a knife. Rakesh sustained stab wounds to his neck, lower left cheek, left ribs, and the back of his right shoulder.

Despite his injuries, Rakesh managed to reach home on his bike. His wife immediately rushed him to a private hospital in Udupi, where he is currently recovering and is reported to be out of danger.
