The whole world is keeping an eye on the war that broke out between America, Israel and Iran. Everyone wants this war to end as soon as possible. Meanwhile, former Minister of State for External Affairs M.J. Akbar's statement has come to light. He says that only God and US President Donald Trump know the time of end of this war.
The former Minister of State for External Affairs has said that America's war objectives are constantly changing. He said that regime change is being replaced by regime adjustment and now Iran's Kharg Island oil center is potentially being targeted.
He said that only God and President Trump knew when the war would start, and perhaps only God and President Trump knew when it would end. He said that but upon further analysis of what has happened and what is likely to happen, I think it can be said that President Trump will not want to end the war before declaring victory in any form. He said that the cost of Trump's failure to do so is very high for him domestically and internationally and the credibility of his entire administration and his entire tenure now really hinges on the outcome of this war.
Akbar argued that President Trump has too much at stake domestically and internationally and is unlikely to end the conflict unless he can clearly demonstrate an American achievement or victory. He said that this is a game of dangerous confrontation beyond imagination in this era of the century. In such a situation, how will Trump define victory? They have to show the American public and anyone interested an accomplishment that can be trusted.
The former Secretary of State for External Affairs said that America's initial euphoria over the success of the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei in this ten-day war has been tarnished by the reality that the Iranians have proved that they are not weak. They have in fact achieved some significant successes. American bases, their powerful missile systems, their radars, American compounds, embassy complexes etc. have been attacked. He said a $20,000 Iranian drone is capable of countering a million or three million dollar interceptor, much more expensive missiles. They said that
Akbar said that Iranian missiles have proved to be more accurate than analysts had estimated. Israel has come under repeated attacks which means the much-awaited Iron Dome has proved vulnerable. Iran has not fully utilized its complementary resources. The Houthis have not yet entered the war, so I think they have also taken some steps to ensure that their power does not diminish.
He speculated that targeting specific strategic locations such as Kharg Island (an oil hub) could be considered an objective to define success. He noted that there is an island off the Iranian coast in the Persian Gulf, Kharg Island. This is the oil center of Iran, it is from here that they are supplied. Their supplies go through the Strait of Hormuz, which is extremely vulnerable to attack. He said that it controls 20 percent of the world's energy supply from Qatar, Gulf countries etc.
He said that President Trump himself has said that he is not ready for an endless war, he is not ready for a war lasting for many years and ground level military deployment is not on his agenda. He said that Trump can land his army in Kharg Island and capture that island and declare it as his victory and say that our war objective has been achieved.
Akbar further said that since America is not able to fulfill its initial objective of regime change, it is changing them. He said, 'As stated by the White House, the objective of the initial war was regime change. He realized that change of power was not possible. He changed it to power adjustment. But this also did not live up to expectations because Iranians have now elected Mojtaba Khamenei as their supreme leader, who is not on the White House's approved list.
Akbar further said that Iran's leadership is being closely examined by America. He said that President Trump himself has said that he would like to choose one of the few people of his choice. After this process is completed, now they have to find the third definition of victory. And I think the Pentagon will be considering this carefully at this time. He said that the cost of simply withdrawing from an unresolved conflict would be very high for Trump from the political point of view.
Akbar said that the decision about the end of this conflict or ceasefire is mainly in the hands of America. Even Israel is not in a position to influence this decision. He also warned that many Gulf countries are being indirectly affected by this war, because Iran has already indicated that if its leadership is attacked, American allies will also have to pay the price.
