MP Teacher Recruitment Update: A significant transformation is set to take place in the teacher recruitment process within Madhya Pradesh. The School Education Department of the state has proposed a new recruitment framework for government schools. This proposal will be presented to the Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board (MPESB), aiming to streamline teacher recruitment by basing it solely on the scores from a single examination rather than two. Candidates will need to pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to qualify for teaching positions in Madhya Pradesh.
In this article, we will discuss the anticipated number of teaching positions available in Madhya Pradesh, review the previous recruitment process, and consider the options for candidates who may not achieve high scores on the TET.
Previous Selection Process Involved Two Exams
Previously, the recruitment of primary, higher secondary, and secondary teachers in Madhya Pradesh required candidates to undergo two examinations. Individuals holding B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. degrees were mandated to clear the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) first. Only those who passed the TET could apply for teaching roles. Following the application phase, a written examination was conducted to determine selection based on the scores obtained. This dual-exam requirement meant that eligible candidates had to apply and sit for two separate exams to secure a teaching position.
New Selection Based on TET Scores
The teacher recruitment framework in Madhya Pradesh is poised for a major overhaul. As per the preparations by the state education department, candidates will now be selected exclusively based on their TET scores, eliminating the need for a second examination.
TET Scores Valid for Life; Retake Options Available
This new TET recruitment approach will greatly benefit aspiring teachers. Notably, TET scores will remain valid indefinitely, allowing candidates to achieve favorable results with just one attempt. Moreover, those who do not perform well on the TET will have the opportunity to retake the exam to enhance their scores.
30,000 Teacher Positions to be Filled This Year
The Madhya Pradesh School Education Department is implementing these changes in anticipation of a large-scale teacher recruitment initiative. This year, the state plans to recruit 30,000 teachers, with an official notification expected to be released around July-August.
