Today, Deepak Bhardwaj, a member of the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee, met with Rajesh Kumar Pandey, the General Manager of Northern Railway, in Delhi. During this meeting, Bhardwaj congratulated the GM on his new role and discussed several pressing regional railway issues.

A significant point of discussion was the Kangra Valley Railway, which Bhardwaj noted as a critical concern. He highlighted the ongoing efforts over the past 18 months aimed at preserving and reviving this heritage rail service, which is vital for local commuters, residents, and tourism. Bhardwaj requested updates regarding the current operational status of this service.

Additionally, various public interest issues from the Pathankot region were brought to light. Bhardwaj pointed out the closure of the railway crossing at Defense Colony, Pathankot, which has severely disrupted daily life, emergency services, and school transport for residents. He also advocated for the long-awaited construction of a subway (LHS) at Chhatrauli.

The General Manager took all the concerns raised into serious consideration and assured that prompt actions would be initiated. Bhardwaj emphasized the importance of elected representatives from the region actively engaging in these matters to ensure that railway services are restored and accessible to the public without delay.
